Caseworker – Day Reporting Center and Hollywood Long Term Offender Reentry Recovery

BSS is looking for a Caseworker who will maintain a caseload of ex-offenders, requiring program plan development, monitoring job search and eventual employment, along with conducting one-on-one counseling sessions. Facilitation of informational/educational groups/classes will be a part of the duties of the Case Worker.  The ideal candidate must possess excellent written, verbal communication skills, along with the ability to be organized and multi-task. Must be able to work varied schedule including weekends and holidays. Must be able to pass background investigation. Must have clear DMV/MVR history and present a 3 year print out at the time the application is filled. The candidate must have an AA degree in criminal justice or related field and 2 years experience or  High School Diploma and 4 years experience. Some experience may be substituted for education. The position is 40+ hours per week, which includes attendance at mandatory staff meetings/trainings, twice per month. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Administrative Assistant – Temporary Position – Vinewood RRC

The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, functional/working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Further, the ideal candidate will possess excellent time management and organizational skills. The candidate will interface, regularly, with the ex-offender population and staff of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation or Bureau of Prisons. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. The position is 40+ hours per week, which includes attendance at mandatory staff meetings/trainings, twice per month. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Job Developer – No Vacancy

BSS is looking for a Job Developer who has experience working with the ex-offender or similar population.  The ideal candidate will conduct assessments, document case notes, facilitate job readiness/training groups, meet with clients on a weekly basis, develop resumes, market the clients to prospective employers, etc.  Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.  Must have BA degree in related field, or High School Diploma and 1 year experience.  Experience may be substituted, year for year, for education. Must be able to pass criminal background check. Must be able to work flexible shifts which would include weekends and/or evenings.

BSS is looking for full time security monitors to work in our Residential Reentry Center providing services to the ex-offender population. The appropriate candidates will possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal, will have excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task, limit set and work as part of a team. Job duties include, but are not limited to, resident counts, anti-narcotics testing, monitoring resident flow into and out of the program, report writing, searches, facility upkeep, filing, answering phones, etc. Must be able to work long term, full time, any shift, weekends and holidays, as needed. Assistant Program Director – No Vacancy

BSS is currently looking for the position of Assistant Program Director.  The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in related field (related years of experience may be substituted for education), possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills and have the ability to develop and conduct staff training, among many other administrative functions.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem solving and crisis intervention skills and have 2 or more years of supervisory experience.

Maintenance/Handyman – Vacancy

BSS is looking for a well rounded and knowledgeable maintenance/handyman.  The right candidate will have functional knowledge in the following areas:  plumbing, drywall/painting, flooring, general repair, minor electrical and window replacement.

Assistant Security Supervisor – No Vacancy

BSS is looking for a full time Assistant Security Supervisor to work in our Residential Reentry Center which provides services to the ex-offender population. The appropriate candidate will possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal, will have excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task, limit set and work as part of a team. Job duties include, but are not limited to providing oversight of the security department, training of the security team, coordinating essential weekly and monthly security requirements (ex: scheduling fire evacuation drills, housing searches, medication audits) and following up to ensure compliance, as well as conducting security functions such as resident counts, anti-narcotics testing, monitoring resident flow into and out of the program, report writing, searches, facility upkeep, filing, answering phones, etc.

The candidate must be able to work long term, full time, any shift, weekends and holidays, as needed to provide adequate oversight of the security staff. Program Director – No Vacancy

Behavioral Systems Southwest is currently looking for the position of Program Director.   The candidate will have a Master’s Degree in criminal justice or related field (years of experience may be substituted for some education), have 2 years supervisory experience, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills.  The ideal candidate will possess team building/trust building skills, program/staff development skills, among many other administrative functions.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem solving and crisis intervention skills.

Note: Depending on the program, a Bachelor’s Degree may satisfy educational requirements.

Drug and Alcohol Counselor – Vacancy

Candidates must be certified counselors, possess at least two (2) years of experience. Certification would be as an CAADE, CAADC or other related certification. Candidates must possess excellent written, verbal and time management skills and able to work in a team environment. Candidates must be willing to work evenings and possibly weekends. Those who cannot, need not apply. Fluency in Spanish a plus.

Cook – No Vacancy

BSS is looking for a Cook. The candidate will possess either a high school diploma or GED and at least one year full time experience supervising a kitchen.  The Cook will be responsible for the efficient operation of the kitchen and the supervision of the assistant cook(s).  The Cook will cook meals, participate in the development of the menu, follow the approved menus that meet nutritional standards.  The cook will taste test all food prior to serving it to the population.  The Cook must be responsible for purchasing and properly storing food, planning and serving meals and ensuring the kitchen meets State and local health department sanitation requirements and ensure procedures for dispensing and retrieving all utensils during and after meal periods.

Assistant Cook – Vacancy – Hollywood Long Term Offender Reentry Recovery

BSS is looking for a part time Assistant Cook and full time Assistant Cook.  The candidate will be responsible for food prep, cooking meals, maintaining cleanliness standards, dry goods monitoring, portion control.  Must possess a valid Food Service Handler Certificate.  Must be able to work weekends and some holidays. Getting along with others, ability to follow directions and guidelines, reliability and dependability a must.  Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
